McCloud Webinars for LGPS Members
Are you protected by the McCloud remedy? Are you keen to know more about what this means?
The LGPS has been working closely with Affinity Connect, a financial wellbeing and retirement specialist, to develop webinars on McCloud for LGPS members (active, deferred and pensioner). The webinars will:
- Offer the opportunity to gain a better understanding of how the LGPS works
- Look at how LGPS pension built up in the final salary scheme before 1 April 2014
- Outline how the McCloud remedy might affect you
The webinars will also look at how to increase your pension pot using Additional Pension Contributions (APCs) and Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs), which may be beneficial for active members of the Scheme.
Unsure if you’re protected? You can use the handy ‘Am I affected?’ tool on the LGPS member website to find out but it’s likely that you’re protected if:
- You paid into the LGPS or another public service pension scheme on or before 1 April 2012
- You paid into the LGPS between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2022
- You do not have a disqualifying service break of more than five years
