Updates to the Buckinghamshire Pension Board

Under the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Regulations, each administering authority is required to establish a local pension board to assist with the effective governance and administration of the Scheme.

On 31 March, after serving as a Scheme employer representative on the Board since inception and having chaired the Board for the past 4 years, Roona Ellis stepped down from the role. The Fund would like to thank Roona for her commitment, leadership and valuable contribution to the work of the Board during her tenure.

At the Board's meeting on 15 July, Ian Thompson, who had previously served as Vice-Chair, was appointed Chair. Following nominations for the vacant Vice-Chair position, Peter Dearden was appointed to succeed Ian in the role.

The Board also welcomed a new member on 8 July, when Paul Wheeler, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the East Midlands Academy Trust, joined as a Scheme employer representative.

All Board meetings, minutes and agendas can be viewed on the democratic services section of the Buckinghamshire Council website. Board members can be contacted at: [email protected].
