Your 2024 Annual benefit statements

Until your pension is in payment, each year you’ll receive an annual benefit statement showing how much your pension is currently worth. Statements are a useful tool to help you keep track of your pension build-up and plan for retirement.

We’ve already begun issuing statements for deferred members. Statements for active members will be issued by 31 August. Your statement will be uploaded to ‘my pension online’, our self-service portal, and we’ll let you know when it’s ready to view by email if we have your email address. If you have more than one pension account, you’ll receive a separate notification and statement for each account.

Get ready by registering for ‘my pension online’

‘My pension online’ has recently been upgraded to include an ‘annual benefit statement dashboard’. This provides you with a quick summary of the information shown on your statement including:

  • The current value of your pension
  • An estimate of death benefits which may be payable

If you are still paying in you will also be able to see:

Login or register now at: ms.buckinghamshire.gov.uk

If you previously registered for ‘my pension online’ on the old host platform, you will need to follow a few simple steps to transfer your details over to the new platform. See my pension online for more information on how to register or transfer your details.

If you’ve opted out of ‘my pension online’, your statement will be posted to you.

Keeping you updated

The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) rules and regulations are set by the government. From time to time, things can change. To keep you updated, each year we produce two newsletters, one for deferred and one for active members. If we have your email address, you’ll receive a digital newsletter. Links to print versions of the newsletters are provided below:

We’ll also send the annual benefit statement guide to help you make sense of your statement.

If you need any assistance, we’re always happy to help. However, we do get busy at this time of the year, therefore we recommend you read through these documents first before contacting us. If you still need a hand, please get in touch.
